With a reputation of being one of the great biking cities of the world, you can hardly visit Amsterdam without taking to its cycle paths yourself. The flat layout of the city, coupled with its 400km of bike paths and great facilities, make cycling an easy and thoroughly enjoyable way of travelling. If you don’t take your own bike when you visit, you won’t encounter any problems hiring one on short notice from one of the city’s numerous bicycle companies.
